'Ah can hold m'own, don't ya worry,' Reta says as she studies your surroundings. 'Where, ah, where are we? Teleportin' is disorientatin' as a motherbugger.'
Re: Rise of The Runelords 1 - Burnt Offerings
"Thistletop." Shathys grunts, "Goblins all over and we need to stop a full on invasion."
Re: Rise of The Runelords 1 - Burnt Offerings
'Ah gotcha. Before we go bust some goblin noggins, Ah gots a few ground rules. Rule one: I'll help you out for as long as you're expectin' combat. When you lot have killed whoever you reckon' needs killin', Ah'm outta here. Rule two: Ah don't like towns, an' they don't like me. Ah won't go near one. Rule three: If Ah'm the only one standin', Ah'm outta here. Rule four: If a battle turns bad for me, Ah'm outta here. Rule five: You keep the loot an' watch me back. Deal?'

"I love adventuring!" Shara laughs. Nothing ever goes the way she suspects.

'Looks like we got three options,' Reta says. 'Ah'll let you lead the way.'
- Spoiler:
- Reta is a temporary companion character. I control her both in and out of combat. You can give her orders, and she will do her best to comply. If you give no orders, she'll just do her thing. If she drops below 0 hit points at any time, she leaves the party. She counts as an ally, meaning she can be healed, used to flank, used as cover etc.

"You have a strange accent, Reta, do you know that?" Morbus notes as he waits for Reta to take command and lead the way.

"Hrm, right. Before we move on I need to know what you can actually do. Do you just, I don't know, bash people with that staff of yours?"

"Oh, neat. Welcome aboard then." Jack turns back to the three paths, looks at it a bit and then shrugs. "Right one then." He says, and walks towards the right path with his sword and shield raised.

You squeeze through a tunnel made of thistles and briars, and it quickly opens into a large cave-like chamber. Above, the thorny canopy grows thin enough that tiny slivers of the sky above can be seen, while below, the ground consists of trampled dirt. To your left, the distant sound of sloshing waves echoes up from a hole in the ground. Two other tunnels lead out of the chamber. You can hear faint voices from the tunnel on your left.

The chamber holds nothing of interest except the hole, and the only thing you can tell about it is that it's very deep.

Note:
- Spoiler:
- It's cool that Jack has taken on the role of leader in the group. I gots no issues with that. But if Jack is the only one to choose where you go and what you do (which is the case most of the time), it's kind of a problem. Both Mathias and I feel like the game would run more smoothly (and hopefully more quickly), if Shathys, Shara and Morbus would take a more active role in the group. I am not telling you how to play your character. If you feel like your character would never take the lead or make an important decision, that's fine.
TL;DR: It seems like the rest of the group is always waiting for Jack to do something, and that really slows down the game. Consider sharing the burden of leadership.

Morbus whispers, "Be quiet" to the others. He listens carefully in hope of finding out what the voices from the left tunnel say.

Several voices are talking in the goblin tongue. They sound relaxed.
Re: Rise of The Runelords 1 - Burnt Offerings
"Okay I think there could be goblins in the left tunnel. I don't like bloodshed - at least not that much, but I vote for us making a surprise attack of some sort. We're here to kill goblins any way and it's better to get rid of them before they contact their master. If we don't kill them right away, I think this entire mission might be in danger.", Morbus says. As he speaks, he silently draws his weapon and waits for the others to respond.

"I agree. Better to surprise them, than the other way around."

Shathys pats the warforged on the back.
"I'm beginning to like you, Friend."
Shathys clears his throat, "We need to destroy all of the goblins we can find, it means less of them in the way if we need to make a hasty retreat, understand?" Shathys begins walking towards the goblins silently, a thick mist curling around him as he tightens his blindfold.

Re: Rise of The Runelords 1 - Burnt Offerings
Soundlessly, Shathys flows through the goblin-sized tunnel of thorns and thistles. The tunnel opens up to a chamber that stinks of smoke and roasting flesh. The ceiling - a natural cover of briars and vines - is low, and a shallow fire pit smolders in the center of the floor, while several shoddy lean-tos of wood and vines line the walls. Shathys can make out several goblins moving around at the fire pit. They don't notice him.

Map:
- Spoiler:
- Shathys is the small red circle. C4 is the chamber with the goblins.
Re: Rise of The Runelords 1 - Burnt Offerings
Shathys walks silently towards the goblins, making sure he's unnoticed. With a swirling motion of his hands a thick, cold mist encircles the goblins, rendering the goblins in cold darkness.
From somewhere in the fog, perhaps by play of light, a pair of golden eyes appear, as those of a large wolf encircling it's prey, snarling and snapping it's jaws before disappearing into the darkness, only to reappear soundlessly around the other side.
