Shathys, spent from his sudden surge of supernatural strength and speed, is unprepared for the two crossbow bolts that thud into his chest, penetrating his armor with little difficulty. Blood pours from the wounds, and two previously hidden goblins giggle. Even as the bolts penetrate his flesh, another attack comes from behind. Another hidden goblin has jumped out from the shadows and stabbed Shathys in the gut.

The hunting dog gets to its feet, blood dripping from its side. It eyes the blackblade and growls menacingly. The blackblade looks uncomfortable. Shathys feels a little safer.

Shocked by the extra goblins arriving, Shara takes a couple of seconds to understand the situation and to cover op her injuries.

Nobody really knows what happened, all they know is that suddenly there are 3 dead goblins on the ground and Shara is looking a little bit less angry. What you can see during the attack though is amazing. The first two goblins get hit by a tsunami like wave of see-through energy, while you don't know why you can see it, you certainly see the two buggers getting smashed to jelly. What hits the Goblin Blackblade on the other hand is on a completely different level.

Shara's eyes turn light-gold just before she closes them. She starts chanting weird words; as she does so a bright golden ray of light erupts from her staff. It hits the Blackblade, piercing a through-and-through hole in his body, curiously enough leaving no blood. The ray of light has burned a perfectly circular hole in this Goblin.

Goblins aren't brave by any means. They much prefer stabbing you in your sleep than facing you in single combat. But something has got these goblin seriously riled up. The last goblin cutter hurls itself at Jack, stabbing him in the thigh.

Jack simply looks at the goblin that just stabbed him in his leg and says: "You're next."
Then he looks at the little bastard of a goblin sharpshooter, weaves through the cutter's attack and charges the crossbow wielding gobbies. The momentum carries his falchion sharply through the sharpshooter's abdomen, almost spilling his innards.

Bleeding through his armor, Shathys roars his defiance, breaking the crossbow bolts in his chest and coughing up a mouthful of blood, the spiked chain writhing wildly, as if it were a serpent.

Shathys sets his eyes on the goblin sharpshooter and filled with rage, charges his quarry.

Faced with fighting two extremely dangerous tall people in close combat, the goblin sharpshooter discards its crossbow and pulls out a rusty dogslicer. It chops into Jack, drawing a trickle of blood. The other sharpshooter, standing in relative safety in the opposite road, watches the combat unfold. It watches it so much, in fact, that it forgets to do anything else.

The hunting dog runs alongside Shathys, barking and growling.

Shara decides to try something a little different from her well-known magicky bolt of doom and throws an orb of acid in the face of the only goblin she can see.

When hit by the acid, the little goblin starts disolving on the ground, until he is nothing but a puddle of jelly on the ground.

Jack slashes at the goblin's legs, making the goblin stumble forward while Jack shifts backwards, creating an opportunity for Shathys to flank him.

Shathys lashes out twice with his spiked chain, but the goblin's frantic maneuvering brings it out of harm's way. For a moment, at least. As his second attack goes wide, and it looks as if he's about to miss, Jack's eyes start shining for a moment, and the attack strikes true. Before the goblin hits the ground, Shathys is off again, running towards his remaining foe. The dog follows.

The remaining goblin frantically reloads and lets loose its last crossbow bolt. With a flick of his wrist, Shathys deflects the bolt with his chain.

Shara moves to get a better view of the remaining goblin. Then she turns to her trusted bolt of death and despair and fires it right at the ugly little goblin's face.

Shathys approaches in a whirlwind of glimmering steel and the goblin sharpshooter falls to the ground, dozens of deep, crimson gashes covering its face and torso.

VICTORY

More than half a dozen goblins lie dead on the ground, dead by various cutting instruments and deadly spells. The young man who was hiding from the goblins approaches you. He is a handsome young man with brown locks of hair and a strong jaw. He is dressed smartly in rich fabrics, and carries himself with the self-assured air of a nobleman.

"Thank you," he says in a breathless voice. "Thank you so much. You saved my life." He grabs each of your hands in turn, shaking it vigorously. "I was sure those horrid creatures would kill us both! But you stopped them, didn't you! You really showed them what for!" When he grabs Shara's hand, his eyes widen noticeable, and his voice drops into that of a nobleman. "And you, m'lady. Such skill and grace in combat paired with such beauty is a rare thing to behold indeed." He bows and kisses the back of her hand. "My name is Aldern Foxglove. Might I have the pleasure of knowing yours?"

"Thank you so much for the kind words Mr. Foxglove. My name is Shara Khan." Shara says while blushing. She's not used to this kind of gentlemans approach, the people of Chelaxian are not exactly known for their good behaviour.

Osmus looks suspiciously at the man flirting with Shara. He then whispers in draconic "I like his dog better".

"It's a true pleasure to meet you, m'lady Khan. I'll be in town for a few more days, and I should hope that you would all pay me a visit. I would love to talk to you more, and I certainly have to reward you properly for saving my life." He turns to Shathys and smiles. "But to start with, won't you accept this hunting dog as a gift? She seems to have bonded with you, and I'm sure she would be happier with you. I bought her only yesterday, and so haven't yet named her."

POSTING FOR SHATHYS

Shathys pets the dog fondly. "If you're sure, I would be honored to accept it. A fine companion."

The dog sits idly, putting up with the attention with a wag of its tail.

Glancing at the man infatuated with Shara and supressing a grin, Shathys nudges Jack in the side jokingly.

"Looks like the goblins weren't the only ones on fire. "

Jack starts massaging his temples, his eyes closed.
"By the gods we don't have time for this..." he opens his eyes and looks directly at the man. "Unless you're in grave danger, we'll have to move to secure the city, now." Jack looks sharply at Shara. "Are you serious about the adventure business? Or will you stay here and keep this... man, company?" Jack smiles almost challenging.

At Shathys' words, Aldern smiles. "I'm glad." He says. "If I may be so bold to ask, what will you name her?"

[Admin]

"Mishka. I think I'll name her Mishka."

Shathys fondly pets the dog's head and smiles to himself.

MISHKA has joined the party!

Quick on her feet with a loud bark and a wicked bite, Mishka protects her allies with the single-minded determination that stems from complete and utter loyalty. She is sure to be a great asset to the group and will follow Shathys like a second shadow, her white paws padding silently behind him.

Aldern nods at Jack. "Yes, of course, you must be off. Adventure awaits, I'm sure. I'm staying at the Rusty Dragon to the south. Please come visit, so we can talk further." He gives you all a deep bow and sets off to the south.

"Cute as this man might be, i am indeed very serious about adventuring". Shara says to Jack with a smile on her face. She pats the Mishka on the head and continues "Besides, i can't let you take care of this little lady all by yourselves".

[Le kek]

"Very well, let's go." Jack jogs in a steady pace off in search for the sheriff and... Jack stops for a second. "If this attack was deliberate, there is a reason for it. They were going to consecrate the church, someone desperately wants to stop that from happening... shit. Come on!" He runs off towards the church.

Shara sees the glimpse of desperation in Jack's eyes and quickly follows him.
