ROUND ONE

Shathys is currently alone with a big and hungry-looking bird demon. Shara and Jack are at the top of the stairs, and it will take one round for them to get to the door.

TERRAIN INFORMATION:
The only source of light is the torch in Shathys' hand, and the green fire in the bird creature's eyes, so much of the room is still in darkness.

First up: Shathys

"It's just you and me big boy." Shathys growls, excited beyond all reason. This scene, reminding him of the Blood-soaked arenas in the Shadowfell. No reason, no thought, just the beauty of carnage in battle.

Circling the best slowly, his silver eyes glinting in the light, Shathys throws down his torche between them.

Shathys laughs hauntingly and disappears into the shadows, reappearing to the right of the beast as his spike chain lashes out, the blade seeming to be alive, licking a deep, dark wound into the beast.

The monster lashes out with its taloned hands, scoring several cuts across Shathys' skin. A numbing cold spreads out from the wounds, and Shathys finds himself shaking with cold and stiff-jointed.

I will enjoy plucking out your eyes.

Shara and Jack race down the stairs and arrive at the door. Sounds of fighting can be heard from within. The door is locked.

Shara runs in the door to help Shathys.

She gets ready to fire some magic at the (no-longer) statue. She looks pissed, her eyes are glowing with anger and her adrenalin pumped muscles are twitching. Between her hands a bolt of black fire is forming. It's like a thousand Onyx stones and black opals exploding.

The fiery bolt leaves her hands and goes straight for the creature's face. It hits the creature right between the eyes and is absorbed into its head.

"Nice of you to join me!" Shathys calls from somewhere in the darkness.

Suddenly the Spiked chain appears, glinting on the torchlight, bounces off the tiles and sending a shower of sparks before correcting and sinking deep into the Raven's leg before whirring back, Shathys crouches down and throws the Blade, keen edge aiming for the Raven's glinting eye.

The raven creature whirls as the spiked chain hits it, and a wicked talon gouges Shathys' arm. It lets out another screech, and a cloud of thousands of dark, shadowy feathers surrounds Shathys, blocking his sight. With a flick of its wrist, the creature sends one of the feathers soaring towards Shara. It hits her like a knife, shearing through her robes before evaporating. In the same motion, the raven creature scores another cut across the blinded Shathys' torso.

I have never tasted Shadar-Kai before. You should be honored, little flesh creature, to be offered up to Pazuzu.
