Shara of course follows the guys. Her only intent for the time being is getting out of there alive. "I am SO going to burn that feather Shathys!" she yells.

You emerge into the sunlight. Behind you, from the depths of the dungeon, the sounds of groaning rock and twisting wood echo, accompanied by a man's insane laughter and a little girl's terrified sobs.

Jack closes the door to the portal and then looks around the place. Is it still serene and all that? what time is it?

Shathys tumbles out after Jack, sits down on the ground and starts laughing, a soft chuckle into a full blown maniac laugh, not unlike the laughter chasing after them.

"Now that. That was the most fun i've had in ages." Shathys continues to laugh as the rush of battle fades. then grows serious as he remembers the child's' sobs.

"Poor, poor child." Shathys growls angrily. "I don't know how to release the child's suffering. Jack, certainly there is something we can do? Yes?"

Jack looks at Shathys and pulls a nervous smile, more a twitch than anything. "Heh, I chased more thieves and cutthroats than books if you get what I mean. But I'm guessing we need to cut off whatever source is feeding the dimension and absolve whatever issue she has. Probably a major baddie of Pazuzu." Sweat dribbles down Jack's face as he talks.

The surroundings are just as serene and peaceful as before. Judging by the sun's position, you have been down there for about an hour.

"If i may make a suggestion, we should set up camp here and have a rest before we move on. To be honest you guys look a little exhausted and i don't feel like swimming either."

While talking Shara moves closer to the portal and examines it once again.

"What if we can't get down when the tide comes in?"

"Then we wait until low tide. And hope nothing comes out of that portal." Jack takes a sideways glance at the door.

Shathys sighs, then lays back against the grass. "Fair enough."

Studying the entrance to the dungeon, Shara puzzles a few things out. The groaning and creaking appears to be the sound of the dungeon collapsing in on itself. Perhaps the raven guardian - some kind of demonic construct - was the focus that kept the place stable. Now it's slowly sealing itself shut. She estimates that it will take between 5 and 10 minutes before the whole thing seals up for good.

Shathys sighs, exasperated with being robbed of a trophy.

"I do suppose you're right." Shathys takes the black plume from his hair and hands it to Shara.

Shathys snatches the feather back briskly. "If the dungeon falls, there is no way it can get out, the feather is harmless."

Jack looks at Shathys sharply and raises an eyebrow. "The other feathers melted, yours didn't. How come? Have you heard any voices?"

"This feather is going in that dungeon before it collapses" Shara says, hardness in her voice very apparent.

She takes the feather from Shathys hand.

"I'm sorry Shathys, but i'd rather not fight you when you go insane from a mind-eating feather. You're too strong a component. I'd like to keep you as a friend."

Osmus giggles from within one of Shara's pockets. "Ha ha. Lost our toy, did we?" he says. Luckily it's in draconic and only Shara understands. You can barely see the smile on her lips as she turns around facing the portal.

Shara hesitantly hands the feather to Jack. "Come on now, we don't have a lot of time. I'd really rather be on the safe side. I've seen the both of you fight, i'm not quite up for the challenge of the fight being against me."

Jack smiles and claps Shathys on the shoulder. "Good man."
He concentrates on the feather with his symbol in his left hand.

It appears to have solidified into a completely normal feather. A little bigger than usual, but you don't sense anything off about it.

"I don't sense anything." Jack says and looks up again. "Maybe it reacted to something within you, a being from another shadow world, and changed." He gives the feather back to Shathys. "It's a normal feather." and shrugs.
